custom light fixtures
Shades made from a variety of papers and fabrics make soft and beautiful light.

These wall lights shown were made with one some of my favorite materials:  Japanese papers.  The papers are wrapped around simple aluminum frames made with light, easy to assemble components.  I used two different types of papers: mulberry paper and thin cork paper sheet.   The ceiling fixture was made from a sheet of dyed muslin.

I used these fixtures as a counterpoint to a modernist interior space.  The fixtures add warmth and a glow that enhances the space.
