The Lantern Pavilion
Designed to use only a minimal amount of material to provide the maximum amount of shade and a feeling of enclosure.
The lantern, an open air space, was named because of the quality of light coming through strategically located translucent panels. The panels are placed to screen the western sun during the hottest part of the summer.
The materials included four reclaimed galvanized steel square columns, southern yellow pine lumber and translucent polycarbonate panels.
