Featured on this page is the Merritt Mill Rd. Infill house for a tight urban site a couple blocks from downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill.  This is for one of the most restrictive sites we've ever worked with.  It was an exciting challenge!

This house will have two giant sculptural elements, concrete brise-soleils, or sun screens.  On the west side, the brise-soleil will shelter the house and upper terrace from the brutal western sun.  On the north side, the brise-soleil will be more of a privacy screen, shielding the interior view from the asphalt parking lot next door.
